Kujira is a sustainable DeFi ecosystem that aims to make DeFi more accessible and affordable for everyone. It does this by providing a suite of tools and protocols that make it easy to build and use DeFi applications. Kujira is also committed to sustainability and has a number of initiatives in place to reduce its environmental impact.

Kujira is still in its early stages, but it has already made significant progress. It has a thriving community of developers and users, and its ecosystem of DeFi applications is growing rapidly. Kujira is poised to become a major player in the DeFi space, and its sustainable approach is sure to attract even more users in the future.

What is Kujira?

Kujira is a decentralized ecosystem for protocols, builders, and web3 users seeking sustainable FinTech. It is a Layer 1 protocol that creates tools to give investors affordable and easy-to-use DeFi investment tools, with the aim of making everyone a crypto whale. The project was initially launched as ORCA, a Terra-native liquidation platform focusing on liquidations on Anchor Protocol, and was rebuilt as a semi-permissioned Cosmos SDK blockchain in July 2022.

Kujira’s Sustainable Approach

Kujira leverages the Cosmos SDK modular architecture, along with a suite of synergetic protocols, as the foundation for creating sustainable, long-lasting financial systems. Existing governance-approved protocols include a native overcollateralized stablecoin, a P2P platform, liquidation queues, and a decentralized order book exchange, with a launchpad and a native wallet currently pending.

Ecosystem of DApps

The Kujira ecosystem includes several DApps: FIN, ORCA, BLUE, and Finder, each with specific user functionality. FIN is Cosmos’ first decentralized, permissionless, 100% on-chain order book-style token exchange. ORCA is the world’s first public marketplace for liquidated collateral. BLUE delivers a better trading experience on FIN by narrowing the price spread and deepening the pool. Finder is a tool to search for present and historical data on the Kujira blockchain.

Kujira’s Community and Sustainability Efforts

Kujira has a thriving community with 50K+ active users and a very engaged Twitter, Discord, and Telegram community. The project has a long term view for real-world use, revenue, and sustainability for builders, validators and users alike.

Kujira ensures sustainability in several ways. First, it is a semi-permissioned blockchain, meaning that in order for a contract to launch on Kujira, it needs to be voted in via governance. This ensures that the quality, sustainability, and longevity of the network are protected.

Real Yield

Second, Kujira has avoided inflationary incentives such as airdrops and liquidity pool rewards, as they believe these can harm the long-term health of the ecosystem. Instead, they have focused on building high-quality, fee-charging dApps that generate real yield from genuine demand for their products. They have minimized dApp fees to make them more accessible to users while still ensuring a sustainable revenue model.

Third, 100% of Kujira’s dApp revenue is shared with KUJI stakers, and all staking rewards from their 13.8 million KUJI staked with genesis validators are redistributed back to stakers. This helps to increase the yield for everyone in the Kujira ecosystem.

But what does “Real Yield” mean?

Real Yield” in the context of cryptocurrencies refers to the interest or return generated from participating in DeFi protocols generated from revenue sources instead of token emissions. It functions like a stock dividend, where you invest some tokens in a DeFi protocol and receive a certain percentage of its revenue. This is different from unsustainable yield which has been made possible by unsustainable token emissions. Some DeFi protocols that offer a real yield model are GMX, Synthetix, and Dopex

Commitment to Charity

Finally, charity is an important aspect of the Kujira ecosystem. They believe in supporting disadvantaged communities and have demonstrated this commitment through various charitable initiatives. For example, Kujira joined the Angel Alliance, a charity alliance on the Terra blockchain headed by Angel Protocol. As part of their commitment to charity, they contributed approximately 0.2% of their genesis supply (131000 KUJI) to Angel Protocol.

Kujira’s Roadmap

Kujira has a clear roadmap for the future, with plans to expand its ecosystem of DeFi applications and continue to develop its sustainable approach. Some of the key milestones on the roadmap include:

  • Launching a decentralized launchpad for new DeFi projects
  • Developing a native wallet for Kujira users
  • Expanding the Kujira community through marketing and outreach initiatives

Team

Kujira is led by a team of experienced professionals with a proven track record in the DeFi space. The team is committed to building a sustainable and long-term DeFi ecosystem that benefits everyone.

Partners

Kujira has partnered with a number of leading DeFi projects, including Terra, Cosmos, and Osmosis. These partnerships will help Kujira to scale its ecosystem and reach a wider audience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kujira is a sustainable DeFi ecosystem that is making DeFi more accessible and affordable for everyone. It has a thriving community of developers and users, and its ecosystem of DeFi applications is growing rapidly. Kujira is poised to become a major player in the DeFi space, and its sustainable approach is sure to attract even more users in the future.

Kujira’s sustainable approach is based on a number of initiatives, including a semi-permissioned blockchain, real yield, and a commitment to charity. These initiatives help to ensure the long-term health of the Kujira ecosystem and make it a more attractive option for users.

Kujira is a promising project with a lot to offer in the DeFi space. It is worth keeping an eye on as it continues to grow and develop.
