  • U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $998.95 million in net inflows on Monday, Sept. 21, the largest daily haul since Oct. 6, 2025.
  • BlackRock’s IBIT led with $381.37 million, followed by ARK 21Shares’ ARKB at $289.12 million and Fidelity’s FBTC at $238.84 million.
  • Bitcoin briefly traded above $87,000 as combined ETF net assets rose to about $110.14 billion.
  • The products remain roughly $450 million in net outflows year to date despite the three-session rebound.

U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds absorbed $998.95 million in net inflows on Monday, their largest single-day total in 11 months, according to SoSoValue data. The print was the biggest since Oct. 6, 2025, when the same products took in about $1.2 billion as bitcoin last approached its record high.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) accounted for $381.37 million of Monday’s creations. The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) added $289.12 million and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) took in $238.84 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT contributed $61.67 million, with smaller positive prints from Bitwise and both Grayscale products. No listed spot bitcoin ETF posted a net outflow for the session.

The inflow coincided with a sharp rally in the underlying asset. Bitcoin briefly climbed above $87,000 on Monday for the first time since January before easing, a move that also forced a wave of short liquidations across crypto derivatives, as reported earlier in the session.

“While there is no single clear catalyst, the move appears to reflect a combination of renewed risk appetite, strong spot ETF demand and some short covering after bitcoin broke above key technical levels,” Min Jung, research associate at Presto Research, said.

Monday’s haul extended a three-session streak after $159.5 million on Sept. 17 and $433 million on Sept. 18. Combined net assets across the U.S. spot bitcoin ETF complex reached about $110.14 billion, or roughly 6.3% of bitcoin’s market capitalization, with cumulative net inflows since January 2024 at $56.16 billion.

The rebound does not erase a weaker year. Spot bitcoin ETFs are still down about $450 million on a year-to-date basis after mid-September redemptions tied to the Senate’s failed Clarity Act cloture vote and the Federal Reserve’s first rate increase since 2023. Month-to-date inflows now stand near $1.31 billion, following August’s $3.52 billion intake.

On-chain desks are watching whether spot demand holds as leverage rebuilds. CryptoQuant head of research Julio Moreno wrote on X that bitcoin trading above its 365-day moving average was “the last signal for a Bitcoin bull market confirmation.” Traders still face a packed macro calendar, including a Trump-Xi meeting and upcoming U.S. inflation and labor data that have historically swung both ETF flows and bitcoin volatility.
