Market Cap / MCAP

What is market cap?

Illustrates the collective value of all cryptocurrencies when they are added together. It’s often used as a measure of a cryptocurrency’s popularity and attractiveness.

There is a website that calculates the market cap using volume-weighted average of prices from multiple exchanges, CoinMarketCap.

The market capitalization of a coin is determined by multiplying its price by the total number of coins in circulation. This implies that, like the price of a cryptocurrency, a market cap may be very volatile and change hourly.

How is Mcap calculated?

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the number of outstanding shares of a firm by the current market price of one share. This metric, rather than revenue or total assets, is used by the financial community to assess a company’s size. The word is also known as market capitalization or MCap.

What does Mcap mean in Crypto?

The total market capitalization of a cryptocurrency. It is one of the methods for determining a cryptocurrency’s relative size.
